Interview Slay: How to Dominate Your Next Interview – Part IV

In today’s lesson we will discuss the main section of an interview – the Q&A portion.

We all know that the questions portion of the interview is where you can either make or break your chances of actually getting the job.

Interviewers are not only looking for someone who is a good fit and professional, but they are also checking to see if you have the knowledge and skills to actually perform the tasks required in the job.

As part of your interview preparation you need to be very familiar with the different types of interviews as well as the correct ways to answer some common interview questions.

Types of interviews are:

  • Behavioral
  • Situational
  • Group
  • Phone
  • Panel
  • Case

Some of the common interview questions are:

  • Tell me about yourself?
  • What are your strengths?
  • What are your development areas?
  • Why are you looking to leave your current job?
  • Why should we hire you?
  • Tell me about a time when…?

That’s all for today! Stay tuned for the final lesson which will be posted tomorrow. We will get into how to ask the right questions in an interview.
